This year’s theme, "Technology & Leadership towards 2035 – Global Perspective," featured talks from Mr. Elan Chelian, Managing Director, Sanmina-SCI India, and Dr. Anand Gurupatham from Renault Nissan. Dr. Sekar Viswanathan welcomed the guests, with Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan presiding.

VIT Chennai launches ECO-RIDE, on 27th september, it is a eco-friendly e-vehicle commute service. Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, Vice President, flagged off the service alongside Dr. Thyagarajan T, Pro Vice Chancellor, and Dr. P. K. Manoharan, Additional Registrar. ECO-RIDE reduces carbon footprint, providing convenient, sustainable transportation within campus, aligning with VIT's greener vision.
The valedictory ceremony of TechnoVIT'24 was held at VIT Chennai on 21st September 2024, at the Mahatma Gandhi Auditorium. Honorable Dr. T. R. B. Rajaa, Minister of Industries, Investment Promotion, and Commerce, served as the Chief Guest, and Smt. Imnanni DeepaVenkat was the Guest of Honour. While Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, Vice President of VIT, welcomed the distinguished guests.
VIT Chennai's SDG 11 Project Expo (Sept 18, 2024) showcased student-led innovations in sustainable urban development. Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, VP, and Dr. Ganesan R praised IoT-based solutions for waste management, energy conservation, and transportation. The event highlighted technology-driven solutions for resilient cities, fostering a sustainable future.
VIT Chennai Convocation 2024 commenced on 17th and 18th August, marking a milestone in students' academic journey. Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, Vice President, played a key role in the ceremony, which was also graced by esteemed guests, including Central Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy and Chief HRO of LTIMindtree Ms. Chetana Patnaik on 17th august, inspiring students to reach new heights.
